Questions:

DO I HAVE TO PAY TO WATCH THE AUCTION?

No, it is a public auction and anyone can attend a sale or visit on a non-sale day. However, for Health & Safety reason we do not permit children under the age of 14.

HOW DO I BID?

Simply catch the attention of the Auctioneer, he will then look back at you for further bids as the auction progresses.

CAN I PUT A RESERVE PRICE ON MY ITEM?

Yes, all goods can be entered into the auction with a reserve price.

WHAT IS A PROVISIONAL SALE?

If the last bid taken is below the reserve price, the seller is contacted to see if the bid is acceptable.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY PURCHASE?

A cash deposit is required immediately on the fall of the hammer, followed by payment in full within 24 hours. No goods will be removed from the premises until full payment is made. For further details please call us.

WHEN I SELL GOODS AT AUCTION, HOW WILL I BE PAID?

A remittance advice and cheque (a/c payee only) will be posted, by FIRST CLASS MAIL, two working days after the day of the sale for car sales and after five working days after the sale for commercial vehicles, plant and equipment. Please ensure that your FULL NAME, ADDRESS and POST CODE are PRINTED clearly on the entry form.

WHAT IS A BUYERS PREMIUM?

This is a charge to cover the auction costs, such as HPI checks etc. It is payable on all lots.

WHY ARE SOME VEHICLES SOLD WITHOUT DOCUMENTATION?

Many vehicles come from large company fleets and the documents are not always readily available. To speed up the sale process they are sold without documents, however, you can apply for duplicate registration documents at any Post Office.

DOES THE AUCTION SELL COMMERCIAL VEHICLES?

Yes, separate commercial vehicle sales are held regularly. Take a look at the NEXT SALE PAGE or give us a call.

IS V.A.T. PAYABLE ON COMMERCIAL VEHICLES?

Most vans etc. are subject to V.A.T. at the standard rate, unless announced otherwise by the Auctioneer. If you are V.A.T. Registered you may claim the V.A.T. payable back through your normal V.A.T. return.

CAN YOU ARRANGE FINANCE?

It is not common for auctions to arrange finance, however, you may arrange your own finance before the auction takes place.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN A VEHICLE IS SOLD WITH A TRIAL?

When sold with a trial you have one hour after the sale to test the vehicle with one of our drivers to ensure that everything stated on the windscreen sticker is correct. We strongly recommend that this option be taken up as there is no comeback for faults discovered on vehicles not taken for a trial.

CAN I CHANGE MY MIND AFTER I HAVE BOUGHT AT AUCTION?

No, when the hammer falls you enter a legally binding contract. You will be asked for your name and address and to pay your cash deposit. Full payment must then be made within 24 hours either by Bankers Draft, Building Society Cheque or in cash.
